Larry's Bio

Larry Heagle continues to grow as a performer. Audiences love him with only one complaint: "You made me laugh until my cheeks hurt!"

Employing both stand up comedy and guitar-backed original tunes as well as hilarious musical send ups, Heagle's material runs the gamut from Norwegian snowmobiler's battling the elements to battling Chicago drivers on Interstate 94, from four things learned on a dairy farm to why he quit teaching, from divorced/re-married support groups to dealing with being a priest's brother, from accepting mature middle age to looking forward to being a geezer, from Cheeseheads to buttheads, from sterilization to AIDS prevention, not much escapes Heagle's observation. But Larry Heagle is much more than a comic. He is also a singer-songwriter.

May of 2003 marked the release of two CD's: Irish Heart and Larry Heagle: Rude, Crude, and Poor. "The Big Tomato", a salute to his work vehicle, recorded on the Irish Heart CD, was aired on NPR's "Car Talk" in July of 2003. "The Wood Tick Song", from the Rude, Crude, and Poor CD, took off regionally in 2003, with airplay on Eau Claire, Wisconsin's Moose Country 106.7 and Wausau's WIFC and WDEZ, and gained a toe hold on Minnesota FM station KQ98 in Spring Grove...and like Lyme's Disease, it appears to be spreading.

Music buffs recognize Heagle from his 1979 recording of "The Vasectomy Song" , a little ditty that has taken on a life of its own. It has received national airplay on the "Dr. Demento Show", has been recorded by The Limeliters - folk icons of the 1960's, and most recently was chosen as sound track theme for an upcoming documentary film on vasectomies, "The Pool is Closed, My Boys Can't Swim", by documentary film makers Karen Sosnoski and Fred Zeytoonjian of Alexandria, Virginia.

Wisconsin recognizes this native son as a television spokesman for The Leinenkugel Brewery of Chippewa Falls, for which he wrote and appeared in the award winning "Turtles Commercial" . Leinenkugel's continues to use spin-offs from Heagle's beer-cans-on-a-stringer concept in much of their advertising.

Midwest car enthusiasts recognize Larry from a two-time award winning "excellence in advertising" video, "It's Titts" , which he both wrote and performed for Profitable Sales and Marketing.

By far, the national private sector recognizes Larry Heagle as an outstanding corporate entertainer who has traveled the length and breadth of America, entertaining literally tens of thousands. From Deerfield Beach, Florida, to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, from Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Thunder Bay, Ontario, from Sturgeon Bay to Green Bay...As Wil Denson of Wisconsin West Magazine put it: "He's been there and is usually asked back. You get the feeling if you ever wanted to discover the real America, you could just jump in the van beside him and Larry would take you there."

In addition, Heagle is also active in many charitable causes, having raised thousands of dollars for The American Diabletes Association, United Cerebral Palsy, The Community Table, and The Sisters of Saint Benedict.

Larry lives with his wife, Kim Wilson, on Otter Creek, just outside Eau Claire, Wisconsin. When he is not touring, he is either in the kitchen cooking, on the river fishing his favorite prey, smallmouth bass, or preparing for his next Pizza Party!
